Sony's Reader brings reading firmly-and stylishly- into the 21st
century, with electronic paper technology that can only be described as
breakthrough. Turn on the screen of the Reader and you'll experience an
ample 6" (measured diagonally) with astounding clarity and resolution
that many other digital devices just can't match.
While the Reader does support PDF, RTF, and TXT files, it also supports
a new file standard called BBeB (Broad Band eBook). This format was
created to aid in the delivery of eBooks to consumers and has been
adopted by many major publishers to make their books available to the
public. You can see the vast number of titles supported in BBeB by
going to http://ebooks.connect.com.
This site is designed to provide you information on how to create BBeB
formatted content for the Sony Reader. From the intermediary XML based
file formats to the final BBeB distributable file format; this is where
you can learn it all. You will also find a discussion forum where you
can share ideas with fellow developers. Good luck, enjoy and please give
us feedback.
